Freshman Design Project

18 Volt Drill Powered Tractor

The images above are of a mini tractor that is powered by an 18 volt drill. With a team of four we built this from the ground up. With the concept of a simple "I" frame chassis, we introduced a center drive off of a irrigation sprinkler to act as the drive train. Then proceeded to wire brake line from a  "gas" pedal back to the drill as our power source "drill".

This project was the first time that I truly had to work as a team to accomplish a common goal. It showed me the importance of a team and everyone's efforts to overcome a challenge rather than accomplishing it by oneself.
